Eligibility:
Bachelor's degree in any discipline with adequate competence in Mathematics under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 55% marks. |

Reservation of Seats:
Upto 22.5 per cent (15% for SC and 7.5% for ST) of seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates respectively. 3% seats are reserved for Physically Challenged (Handicapped) in each category i.e. General, SC, ST and OBC. The SC/ST and Physically Challenged (Handicapped) candidates who have passed the qualifying examination irrespective of their percentage of marks are eligible to appear in the Entrance Examination. 27% seats are reserved for OBC candidates (non creamy layer) subject to availability of sufficient infrastructure. |

Admit Card for Entrance Examination:
Admit Card will be issued by the University only to those candidates who have submitted the Application form complete in all respects on or before the last date for submission of Application Form i. e. 16th March, 2009. The University will not be responsible for any postal delay or irregularity or loss in postal transit resulting in non- receipt of either the filled in Application Form by the University or the Admit Card by the candidates. The candidates may download their Admit Card from the University's website: www.jnu.ac.in after 10th May, 2009 and take that Admit Card to the Examination Centre with a copy of latest passport size Photograph. |

How to Apply:
Sets of Application Form and Prospectus can be obtained (i) either personally from the Counter in the Administrative Block of the University on cash payment of Rs. 200/- per set from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. and from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m. on all working days (Monday to Friday); or (ii) through post by sending crossed Bank Draft (valid for six months) for Rs. 300/- drawn in favour of JAWAHARLAL NEHRU UNIVERSITY payable at NEW DELHI alongwith a self-addressed (unstamped) envelope of the minimum size of 30 cms. 25 cms. clearly indicating the Category for which the Application Form is required on the self-addressed envelope to the DEPUTY REGISTRAR (ADMISSIONS), ROOM NO. 28, ADMINISTRATIVE BLOCK, JAWAHARLAL NEHRU UNIVERSITY, NEW DELHI-110067. Candidates seeking Application Form and Prospectus from Nepal are required to send a bank draft of Indian Rs. 400/- or equivalent in US Dollars. Money Orders and Cheques are not accepted. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR REQUEST THROUGH PRIVATE COURIER SERVICES. |

| The Entrance Examination fee for candidates belonging to general category including OBC is Rs. 220/- for 1 field of study, Rs. 430/- for 2 fields of study and Rs. 600/- for 3 fields of study. Similarly candidates belonging to SC/ST and Physically Challenged (Handicapped) categories are required to pay examination fee at the rate of Rs. 110/- for 1 field of study, Rs. 215/- for 2 fields of study and Rs. 300/- for 3 fields of study. |
